Kid-friendly rites that are open and accepting are a hallmark of Three Cranes Grove, ADF, in Columbus, Ohio. This is at Yule 2018.
At Yule 2018, Three Cranes Grove, ADF, had the Good God, the Daghda, come and speak his tale of how he changes the seasons with his harp.
In a yule rite, Rev. Avende (right) and other members of Three Cranes Grove, ADF, light the yule spiral to warm the sun and bring the light back.
Each year, we find the light on the winter solstice, hiding candles around the house and letting the children find them. We light them all at the hearth, and warm our coming year with the renewed strength of the sun!

Last night was the @threecranesadf Equos Druid Moon Rite, honoring Epona. We do this ritual annually, and I always remember my friend, Carmen, during this rite, and much of the work I do is in her memory. While many members of our Grove could not attend for various reasons, and it turns out I was the only one who was physically present to do the work, I was able to broadcast the rite live for folks to watch. Piety demands we do the work, even when no one is there to know; the Spirits are equal partners to the folk, and we do the work for whomever stands within the fire's light. Our omens for this rite were that we have clarity on what is in our past, and we are protected into the future. Our voices join as one in the present, and we carry each other forth, much as the horse carries the rider. Together, we move faster, and stronger.
